Parking Permits

To obtain an ePermit, follow the instructions outlined in the section that applies to you.

Remember ePermits are virtual and use your license plate to identify your vehicle, so be sure to enter this correctly!

Students ( Blue, Green, and Black Lots)

Your ePermit allows you to park on FAU campuses. Any vehicle parked on campus must have an ePermit.

Blue (Commuter) ePermit Holders

As a commuter, you are assigned a blue virtual permit. You are allowed to park in all of the blue lots. Blue permitted vehicles may park in red lots between the hours of 6 PM and 7 AM  unless otherwise posted. Blue permits may park in lot 40 PBSC during the day from 6 AM to 11 PM. Overnight parking is not permitted, and no vehicles may be parked in the PBSC lot between 11 PM and 6 AM. 

Green (On-Campus Resident) ePermit Holders

As an on-campus residential student, you will be assigned a green ePermit. You are allowed to park in all of the green lots. Green permits may park in blue and red permit lots between the hours of 6 PM and 7 AM unless otherwise posted. PBSC lot 40 is off-limits to all green permits at all times.  

Black (Jupiter Campus Resident) ePermit Holders (Jupiter)

As a resident student in Jupiter, you will be assigned a black ePermit. You are allowed to park in the black lots on the Jupiter campus and the blue parking lots on all other FAU campuses.

Please note that your Profile is NOT your permit!

To register your vehicle or obtain an ePermit through our website:

  1. Go to the  Parking & Transportation Website.
  2. Click on “Parking Login” in the Quick Links/Submenu
  3. Click on the blue “FAU Parking Login” button
  4. Sign in with your FAUNet ID and password.
  5. Click on the “Buy Permits” tile
  6. Select from the drop down, the permit type assigned to you. If you believe there is an error in the permit type assigned, or there is an error, please contact us.
  7. Click “Buy” after selecting the permit type from the drop down
  8. Fill out the form with your vehicle information.
  9. Click “Submit”
  10. Check your email for a confirmation email that your permit is now in the Paid status. If you received this email you are all set.

 

Changing cars? 

If you will be renting or borrowing a vehicle temporarily you have the option to add the vehicle to your account and attach the ePermit to the new vehicle. Once your access to the vehicle is over, you can remove it.

To make changes to your Selected Vehicle list:

  1. Go to the  Parking & Transportation Website.
  2. Click on “Parking Login” in the Quick Links/Submenu
  3. Click on the blue “FAU Parking Login” button
  4. Sign in with your FAUNet ID and password.
  5. Click on the “My Permits” tile
  6. Click “View” on your current active permit
  7. Scroll down to your selected vehicle list and find the “To Add a new vehicle, click here.” And Click “here”
  8. Make the necessary changes and save and submit.

Fort Lauderdale Campus

A parking hangtag is needed to park in the parking garage in Fort Lauderdale. The area reserved for FAU students is located on the 6th floor, sections A, C, E, and on the rooftop – the 7th floor.

Be sure to become familiar with the City of Fort Lauderdale’s parking rules and regulations.

Please visit our office on the Boca Campus in building SU-80 to obtain a valid hangtag to park in the parking garage. Have your z-number ready when you arrive.

Faculty, Staff, and Employees

Obtaining an ePermit

Your ePermit allows you to park on FAU campuses. Any vehicle parked on campus must have an ePermit. Your ePermit will allow you to park in the red and blue lots on campus.


Please note that new hires may not be able to access their parking portal accounts immediately. If you have problems accessing your account, please e-mail our office at faupark@tidybio.net.

  1. Go to the  Parking & Transportation Website.
  2. Click on “Parking Login” in the Quick Links/Submenu
  3. Click on the blue “FAU Parking Login” button
  4. Sign in with your FAUNet ID and password.
  5. Click on the “Buy Permits” tile
  6. Select from the drop down, the permit type assigned to you. If you believe there is an error in the permit type assigned, or there is an error, please contact us.
  7. Click “Buy” after selecting the permit type from the drop down
  8. Fill out the form with your vehicle information.
    1. If you are selecting to pay by credit card, the payment portal will open after you submit your vehicle information.
    2. If you are selecting payroll, please ensure that “Payroll” is selected, and in the notes box, specify how many payroll deductions you would like from the specified amount allowed.
  9. Click “Submit”
  10. Check your email for a confirmation email that your permit is now in the Paid status. If you received this email you are all set.

Guests, Visitors, and Volunteers

Any vehicle parked on campus must have an ePermit.

For non-FAU affiliates, to obtain an ePermit, you must use our Pay-By-Plate systems. These include using our meters or the ParkMobile app or website.



Meters

Meters and Metered Lots are available for visitors coming to our campus for short periods of time. You can pay for the multispace meters at different locations around the campus. All meters on all FAU campuses are $2.50 per hour (cash is not accepted) and there are no refunds. All meters are enforced 24/7.

Only vehicles without an FAU ePermit will be allowed to park at the meters.  If you have a problem with a meter please contact the office at 561-297-2771.

How to Use a Multi-space Meter

  1. Note your license plate number. Press the start key on the keypad to activate if blank.
  2. Press 1 to pay with a credit card
  3. Enter license plate number
  4. Make Payment with a credit card
  5. Please Take the receipt (Retain the receipt in case you need to add time later.) The receipt does not need to be displayed.

ParkMobile App / Website

The ParkMobile app can be downloaded from the Apple Appstore or the Google Playstore.  

ParkMobile may also be used directly via the web at the following link: http://parkmobile.io/

Paying for parking via the ParkMobile app allows you to park in any yellow lot, blue lot or parking garage. All FAU campuses are $2.50 per hour (cash is not accepted) and there are no refunds. Parking is enforced 24/7.

Should the app or website ask for a zone number, please contact us for it through email or by phone.


Volunteering on Campus

A volunteer is defined as any person performing hours of service for the University without promise, expectation, or receipt of compensation for services rendered and is not otherwise employed by the University in another department elsewhere or in a student capacity. For the purpose of this rule, a guest lecturer, teacher, or intern, is not considered a volunteer.  

Volunteers will be issued commuter ePermits free of charge as long as appropriate documentation is provided by the respective department to the Office of Parking and Transportation.

An email must be submitted by the Department Supervisor to faupark@tidybio.net. Permits are issued by semester only!
